Union Station, KCPT and The Bridge are proud to announce a partnership that will introduce a dedicated kidszone and Saturday night concert featuring rhythm and blues musician Anderson East to the 7th Annual Maker Faire Kansas City, June 24 & 25. Both the KCPT kidszone and Saturday night concerts are new featured attractions to this year’s Faire and will be one of the first events hosted in the spacious, new outdoor Haverty Family Yards.
The KCPT kidszone will feature multiple Maker stations such as Splash & Bubbles, Peg + Cat Measuring Tool Activity, Jet and Music Makers, Make KCPT Kids TV and more. The space will also welcome appearances from favorite KCPT characters such as Peg and Jet, as well as stage performances from local family-friendly favorites including Janie Next Door, Drum Safari and Audiobody.
Saturday evening, June 25, the outdoor space will be transformed for a concert featuring East as well as local, special guests Chris Meck and The Guilty Birds. Doors open at 6 p.m. and Chris Meck and the Guilty Birds take the stage at 7 p.m.. Concert tickets are $10. Entry to Maker Faire requires a separate ticket purchase. Tickets are on sale now at makerfairekc.eventbrite.com. The public is strongly encouraged to purchase tickets in advance as the concert is expected to be a sell-out.
