The sea lions swim casually in their pool as a crowd gathers for one of three daily shows at the Kansas City Zoo, but when they see the trainers, they rush to the apron and climb up to see them. Eager to please and hoping for a fishy treat, the sea lions jump and twirl and tumble at the wave of the trainer’s hands and the sound of a whistle that’s inaudible to humans. The trainers reward them with that treat and give the crowd big smile. Have you ever wondered what it’s like to train and care for the sea lions? Most little girls dream of becoming a ballerina during childhood.
