Why settle for one tree adorned with lights when you can experience the beauty of an entire garden transformed for the holiday season? Powell Gardens has announced it will host its first-ever Festival of Lights Dec. 1-Jan. 7, 2018.
Visitors to Festival of Lights can walk through botanically-themed light displays scattered throughout six of Powell Gardens’ gardens. Along a one-mile path, guests will see lit flower sculptures, illuminated insects, a light tunnel, glowing lotus flowers, cascading pools of lights, a giant tree, poinsettias, a light installation that spans the Meadow and Pavilion and more.
The festival will be offered Sundays through Thursdays, 3-9 p.m. Admission is free for members, $12 for adults, $10 for seniors 60 and up, $5 for children ages 5-12 and free for children ages 4 and under. Parking is $5 (free for members).
In conjunction with the event, Powell Gardens will offer a drop-in gift-making workshop for families Dec. 2 from 3-6 p.m. Children can make crafts, listen to stories, enjoy a snack and explore the Festival of Lights.
Powell Gardens is located at 1609 N.W. U.S. Highway 50, Kingsville, MO. For more information about Festival of Lights and to purchase tickets, visit powellgardens.org.
