A recent $20,000 donation from AARP Missouri will help purchase multigenerational play and fitness equipment for Hobby Hill Park in Gladstone. AARP is working with Gladstone Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts to help AARP members enjoy healthier, more active lifestyles.
“Cities that offer accessible amenities and services that people of all ages want, such as walkability, cultural enrichment, and yes, innovative public spaces like Hobby Hill, are surging,” AARP Missouri State Director Craig Eichelman said during a recent presentation to the Gladstone City Council.
The addition of the new fitness equipment is part of the broader Hobby Hill Renovation, which is designed to provide recreational opportunities to visitors of all ages and abilities and to make the park a destination for families. Other improvements include new walking trails, playground equipment, restrooms and a wetland space.
Hobby Hill Park is located at NW 76th Terrace and N. Main in Gladstone, MO.
