Missouri Town 1855 | March 1 Open year-round on weekends, Missouri Town 1855 will also be open 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays beginning March 1.
Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead | April 1 While known for its elaborate pumpkin patch, summer activities and winter holiday lights, spring is a great time to explore the 12-acre farm. Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning opening day, April 1.
Atkins-Johnson Farm & Museum | April 5 Greet spring with a trip to the farm! Atkins-Johnson Farm & Museum reopens for the season April 5 with a new WWI photography exhibit.
Kansas City Royals Home Opener | April 10 Spring training may be just beginning but soon baseball will be in full swing. The Kansas City Royals take on the Oakland A’s for their home opener inside Kauffman Stadium April 10 at 3:15 p.m.

Worlds of Fun | April 14 This season, visitors will notice changes from the moment they walk up to the Worlds of Fun entrance. In addition to new front gate protocols, two new thrill rides are scheduled to open in 2017, “Mustang Runner” and “Falcons Flight." The park opens for the season April 14. Note: Admission to Oceans of Fun waterpark, which opens May 26, is included in your Worlds of Fun ticket price.
Kansas City Starlight Theatre | April 19 The outdoor concert season at Kansas City Starlight Theatre begins April 19 with a concert by alternative rock band, “A Perfect Circle.” Looking ahead, the outdoor Broadway series will begin June 3 with a performance of “Disney’s The Little Mermaid.”
Kansas City Northern Miniature Railroad | May 6 All aboard! The snow and ice will be melted and the Kansas City Northern Miniature Railroad will be rolling down the tracks weekends beginning May 6. At only 75 cents per ride, you can treat your train lover to numerous spins.
Schlitterbahn | May 26 Wash up the beach towels and dust off the sunscreen, another outdoor waterpark is opening just in time for the summer heat. Schlitterbahn will be breaking out the inner tubes and opening May 26 with rides of all thrill levels.
Powell Gardens “Gardens of Myth”| May 27 Trolls, fairies and other wonderment are coming to Powell Gardens late spring for the newest exhibit, “Gardens of Myth.” Visitors can venture into this enchanted experience beginning May 27.
